Xbox offers new Starfield: Shattered Space-inspired controllers through Design Lab. Custom controller designs inspired by the expansion feature unique pink and purple hues. Bethesda aims to bring attention to Starfield with the expansion, hoping for a surge in player engagement.

We're seeing all kinds of issues cropping up for Shattered Space players right now, with the biggest one being something called a "Lookup Failed" error. When they try to start the Shattered Space DLC, they're presented with a planet that has no texture to it, and the writing alongside it says "Lookup Failed". Here's an example:

In terms of scope, Starfield game director Todd Howard has likened Shattered Space to Fallout 4’s Far Harbor expansion. To start playing the expansion, users have to complete the introductory mission of the main quest, One Small Step. While players of any level can play the DLC, Bethesda recommends reaching level 35 for the best experience.

Once you own Shattered Space and download it, you can load up Starfield. The only in-game requirement to begin Shattered Space is to complete the game's first mission, One Small Step. This mission takes you to Jemison on New Atlantis in the Alpha Centauri system. You don't need to join Constellation to complete the mission.

Shattered Space may also serve as a bellwether for how much Bethesda wants to keep investing in Starfield given pressure from Microsoft to deliver more games more quickly
